Garden Stylist AI redesigns a photo of your garden in a chosen style and lists plants checked against RHS hardiness ratings, aspect and soil. Rendering your own photo is not open yet. Today you can browse the examples, choose a photo and join the waitlist.
Step 1 of 3
A daylight photo from the house or the main viewpoint, showing the fences, walls and any buildings you want kept. Your photo stays on this device: nothing is uploaded yet.
Step 2 of 3
Step 3 of 3
We are finishing the image service that turns your photo into a render. Until it opens, the examples on this page show what the output looks like. Join the waitlist and we email you the day you can render your own garden.
Each pair is a stock photo of a real garden and an AI generated redesign of it. Drag the slider to compare.

Our examples show possible garden layouts with a plant list beside each one. The render shows the look. The plant list gives the sun, soil and size each plant needs, so you can assess it for your garden. A hardiness rating alone does not show whether a plant will thrive in your garden.
The plant details are taken from RHS plant pages.
This is the list that came with the cottage back garden example above. Each tag shows the botanical name, light, soil, size and RHS hardiness rating.

Sample plant list from a cottage back garden example
This is an illustrative plant list for the example design. It has not been checked against your garden's conditions. We plan to use your aspect and soil to help suggest plants for your own photo.
You can already check plants yourself on the north-facing plants page and the plant index.

It takes four steps, and the last one waits for rendering to open.
The checks are explained on the how it works page.
We put the plant details next to every example and keep them readable without an account. Rendering is not live yet, so we have not tested it against other tools.

Before photos are free-licence stock. Every after image is an AI generated example made from that photo.
Garden Stylist AI does not render photos yet, so there is nothing to use on your own photo today. You can read every example, plant tag and cost on this site without signing up, and join the waitlist for an update on rendering.
A general chatbot can suggest styles, layouts and plant ideas from a description or a photo. Do not assume its suggestions suit your garden. Look every plant up on the RHS Find a Plant pages and check its hardiness, light and soil needs before buying.
We have not run a ranked test of free apps, so we will not name a winner. When you compare tools, check three things: whether it keeps your boundaries and buildings in place, whether the plant list shows hardiness, sun and soil, and whether that plant list sits behind a paywall.
Start with a clear photo of the space, taken in daylight from the house or the main viewpoint. Add the direction the garden faces, your soil and the style you want, then ask for plants that suit those conditions. Always check the plants it names before you spend money.
Landscape architects usually work on larger or more technical projects, such as planning-led schemes and public spaces. Garden designers mostly work on private gardens, with a focus on layout and planting. Choose someone with experience of the work your garden needs. An example image can help explain your ideas during a consultation.

No. A render is an impression of the plants and layout in a chosen style. The plant list beside it gives names, sun, soil and size to check against your garden, and you still need to measure, mark out and check drainage before planting.
